Photo Scanning + Digitizing
Photo scanning and digitizing is the process of converting physical photos into digital files. This means taking old prints—whether they're in albums, shoeboxes, or tucked away in storage—and scanning them at high resolution to create digital copies. Once digitized, these photos can be easily accessed, shared, and preserved without the risk of fading, damage, or loss.
Instead of rummaging through stacks of old photos when you need them, you can have them stored neatly on a computer, external hard drive, or cloud service, ready to be shared with loved ones. Plus, with features like red-eye reduction, facial rotation, and restoration the quality of these scanned images can often be improved from their original state.
By digitizing your photos, you're not only making them easier to view and organize—you’re also protecting them for future generations. Let me help you do that, so your memories don’t just sit in a box, but are cherished and enjoyed for years to come.

FAQ
How many photos can get scanned in an hour?
If everything is set up correctly, a lot can get done! The machine can scan about 500 pictures an hour. Editing, organization, and restoration can be done while the machine does its thing, which is helpful for smaller projects.
Things that hinder that progress are pictures facing the wrong direction and residue on pictures (especially anything sticky like tape). This can lead to buildup in the machine which will then need to be stopped, cleaned, and started again.
How do you get my pictures?
I offer both drop-off and pick-up options, which we can discuss while booking to find the best solution for you.
How will my photos be organized?
How you sort your pictures before I receive them is how they will be scanned in. If you want a certain organization (i.e. folders, chronological order, etc.) that needs to be done before I receive the pictures.
Sticky notes separating months or years works beautifully!
What format will my scanned photos be in?
Your photos will be saved as high-resolution JPEG or PNG files unless you have a specific format request.
Do you return my original photos?
Absolutely! Once scanning is complete, you’ll receive all your original photos along with the digital copies.
How do I prepare my photos for scanning?
Remove any photos from albums or frames if possible, organize them in the order you’d like them scanned, and make sure they are free of dust or sticky residues.
Do you scan documents, too?
At this time, I focus on photos specifically, but if you have special requests, feel free to ask and we can make something work!
